Contribute a template to the community library. When it’s merged, you claim a tile with a pull request to the Community M repository: your identity mark, an optional portrait, a short .mosaic piece, and a record of which template earned it. One person, one tile — exactly one, ever, for templates. Later templates earn permanent attribution on the template, not a second tile.

Tiles are not chosen; they are dealt. The next claim always lands on the open tile farthest from every claimed tile, so the M looks alive at every fill level instead of filling one region first. The order is precomputed into the manifest and verified by CI — the dashed tile above is literally the next one up.

The tip of the V is the root, and it plays by its own rules. Never dealt, only awarded — for a great contribution to the m0saic ecosystem, not handed out routinely. It is the one tile a person can hold more than once: one contributor tile for templates, ever, but as many root awards as the ecosystem sees fit to give. M #001’s root went to the first contribution: Mosaic itself.

An identity mark, not an advertisement: a photo, an avatar, a monogram, the logo of a project you maintain, a piece of your own art. Square, general-audience, cover-fit into the tile shape by the tools. No slogans, no QR codes, no promotions — it appears inside Mosaic and inside strangers’ videos, so it has to be a person, not a pitch.

When M #001 fills, its completedAt is stamped and frozen, and M #002 opens the same day.

Every claim ships with a video, rendered by m0saic itself from the repository: the M fills in, the camera dollies into your tile, your card comes up — your picture, your handle, the template that earned it — and then your piece plays, a short .mosaic you author.
