That’s the whole model. Every tier runs the same engine, the same templates and the same resolutions — nothing is locked behind a plan. What changes is the mark on the output and the license you render under.

A QR card in the bottom-right corner of free-tier renders — about a quarter of the short edge, big enough to scan from a phone. It adapts light or dark to the pixels beneath it, and it comes and goes in phases rather than sitting on every frame; short renders naturally see more of it. The preview above is a real free-tier render, shown at its actual proportion. Disclosed in the CLI before anything renders. Paid tiers remove it. That’s all.
Your first accepted community template earns two things: a tile on the Community M — the brand mark itself, one person per tile, forever — and a stretch of Pro on us, so the mark comes off your renders while you keep building. Later templates earn permanent attribution on the template.
Templates are reviewed for usefulness, quality and distinctness; a variant that doesn’t add to the library is declined and earns nothing. Start from the developer quickstart, then submit to the community template library.
What happens after I pay?
You get a receipt from Stripe right away and a license key by email within 24 hours — keys are issued by a person, not a robot. Paste it once: m0saic activate <key> in a terminal, or Mosaic Desktop → License. It is checked on your machine; activating sends m0saic.io the key’s id once (never the key or anything about your machine). Renders work offline.
How long does a key last?
Yearly keys cover the year. Monthly keys are issued for at least 90 days at a time and renewed by email while your subscription is active, so a renewal never needs a payment step from you. A key that runs out drops the machine back to the free tier — the mark returns, nothing else changes.
How do I cancel or change my card?
Through Stripe’s manage subscription page — cancel anytime, the plan runs to the end of the paid period. Business licensing, lost keys and anything billing-shaped: billing@m0saic.io.
Does a key work on more than one machine?
A Pro key is personal to you, one seat. It is a file on disk, so your laptop and your desktop can both carry it; sharing or reselling it is not licensed. Servers, CI and agents use the same key through the CLI.
